Bring the family to this workshop to learn how to build a garden altar and bring the traditions of DÃa de los Muertos to life! You’ll be led by Jesus Garcia, a community educator, Mexican shaman, and herbalist. Garcia is a national PreK teacher and founder of TheHerbalActionProject and teaches the traditions of lineage work through botanical practices with holistic enrichment garden programs at the Zilker Botanical Garden.
The activity, which can be added to the Halloween event for kids, will conclude with a healing ceremony and an offering to the ancestors and elemental guides. You’ll experience an emotional healing experience using the spirit guides of the ancestors and the legend of Xochitl y La Flor De Cempasuchil (Marigold-the Nahuatl flower of DÃa De Muertos).
