The garden is open to the public 7 days a week, year-round. The garden is closed for major holidays and Austin City Limits Fest. The garden opens at 9 am daily and closes at 6 pm, with final entry 30 minutes prior to closing.

About Zilker Botanical Garden

Zilker Botanical Garden, nestled in the heart of Austin on 30 acres, is an oasis often referred to as “the jewel in the heart of Austin.”

In the garden, participants will find a variety of themed areas, including the tranquil Taniguchi Japanese Garden, the ancient Hartman Prehistoric Garden, and the blooming Rose Garden. These special gardens are linked by pathways that are accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities, making exploration easy for everyone.

As you wander through, you’ll be captivated by the heritage live oaks, babbling streams, and Koi-filled ponds, all contributing to a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Be sure not to miss the Hartman Prehistoric Garden, where a local dinosaur habitat has been meticulously recreated, offering a glimpse into the past amidst the natural beauty.
